Welcome To The nzymSys Blog
With the launch of our new nzymSys website, I wanted to relate some of my personal experiences as I have shifted to let's say a more "environmentally conscious" state. I am a blogging "newbie", so please bear with me.
My name is David Bloom and I head up nzymSys, Inc., a company that develops and manufactures primarily natural enzyme based products for various cleaning and disinfection uses. Like most of the population, I do not consider myself a hard core environmentalist. I do live "on the grid" (although I have a solar hot water system).
My goal is to offer solutions that enable people like me to make simple painless steps that lead to a path of "greener" living.
About five years ago, I had an effluent (liquid sewage) backup into a corner my newly finished basement living space. I immediately got a hold of the EPA and my state health department, who told me to "tear it all out". I was told to throw out all the furniture, carpeting, sheetrock, etc., wash down what was left with a chlorine bleach solution and start over.
I had concerns about health issues, 3 kids, 3 dogs and 2 cats (all rescues, well not the kids), but I knew there had to be a better alternative cleanup method.
About the same time, I had been talking with a young food and plant scientist, Stephen Gorton, who was working on a safe natural enzyme solution for mold and bacteria remediation. Stephen sent me the experimental formulation he was working on.
I treated the basement with his formula, dried everything out and treated again. I had the space tested for both molds and bacteria and the tests came back clear. The only things that got thrown out were a couple of bookcases, where the bottom wood had swelled.
Follow up testing every 6-12 months have proven the remediation a success.
More on enzymes next time.

You mention bacteria. Will this stuff work on MRSA?
Yes. MRSA was one of the many pathogens challenged by our independent lab verified efficacy testing.
